This protracted (very long) primary season seems to be coalescing (gelling) into an ideological struggle between two apparently core conservative values, Greed and Intolerance. As each of the two front runners begins to clarify the issues that matter most, we see …

Socialism is a word. It is not a good word or a bad word. Capitalism is also just such a word. However, it is the context in which the word is spoken that makes all the difference. Madoff is a capitalist, Obama is a socialist? ...etc.

Benet, Great work! Thank you for your vine and contributions. Your thoughtful and convincing arguments are appreciated.
I'm sitting here drinking my coffee thinking, why not...
Reading between the lines can be traumatic before I've had a cup or two. As a whole your comments are straight forward and heart felt. Then there's the rest. I can appreciate a dry sense of humor. Then the old ironic, sarcastic, and oozing with gist ones. Which I can appreciate, also. LOL. But at times being a "big word dropper" reminds me of the old saying, "Less can be more". Which I've noticed is usually included in your sarcastic replies. Don't get me wrong, I can open my handy dandy on-line dictionary with one little click of a button. Reaching over someones head and using it as a tool to try to make them look stupid, dumb, or uneducated isn't attractive. Now, before you reply with some scathing remark, I did offer to whack someone with a makeup case. LOL. So, superior I am not. As for you being a liberal or a conservative... One term you used I do belive was "whacked conservative's". Nuff said. One thing I did notice which you've earned kudo's, a pat on the back, or a big ole hug(ok, ok, nice photo) for is on one of your interest in others input. Asking for their experiences on a certain topic's. Nice !! I'm always digging up information. Which drives my family nuts sometimes but I can usually answer a question. Even if it takes an hour or a day to find out. I hope none of my comments sounded critical in anyway. Lord knows I've made friends spew drink out of their noses a few times along the way with things I've said. It's those little things that make it all worth while....Hope your day is great!! I now have to go and make up some time lost and pretend I was working all day getting things ready to go and enjoy the great outdoors for a 4 day weekend. I for one think camping rocks. Though it did rock more until I was told about stabalizers. LOL
Benet, I hesitate to comment on newsvine because, after reading those comments for a couple of months I realise, it's not a place for communication. My impression is, some of us care less about what we think and say, some of us care more about putting our posts out there. With clever or snappy replies. Too often, we seem to be saying something like: "Oh, yeah!" and "Nuh uh!" and "Mine is bigger than yours!" Some of us just want to be right.
Have you noticed that there are some posters who really have nothing original to say, yet they appear several times in a string, over and over? And although things are going badly now in several areas, don't you think they would be just as negative were everything going spiffy?
I have always been more drawn to people--lower, middle, and upper class--who are thankful for what we have, who know that we can be better, and who believe that--sorry to give a cliche--we shall overcome.
I don't know if we shall overcome, but we definitely can. Overcome.
It is frustrating to see so many negative posts here, but keep in mind that for the moment many people are positive. The American public is positive, there are many Republican legislators who are positive about working with Sean O'Bama (and I'd be lyin' if I said I didna vote for 'im).
I suggest, after reading your posts, that perhaps this is not where you should be contributing. People here do not listen to arguments, not Republicans or Democrats or Indies or anybody else. They only care about getting in their fifteen minutes of fame. They feel satisfaction when they can call another poster a *#@#%ing moron, their most intelligent comments are: GIVE ME A BREAK! and WAKE UP!
Finally, I must comment about the liberal media.
I believe that the criticism about liberal media may have some truth. But I also believe that media people are experienced and educated, and so naturally they aren't going to report on a story about ministers holding rattlesnakes and wishing the worst on heathens in far away nations the same way as local newspapers from Amity, Arkansas. It is not that the reporter of the Amity Herald is wrong, it's just he/she has never been to France.
Benet, don't waste your time on Newsvine. No one will listen. Find a venue where you can be heard.
So what do you think? Am I a liberal or conservative? How would you describe my world view? Any thoughts or questions on my comments?
— Benet
